These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Certify.App platform at usecertify.app ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Certify.App provides tools for organizations to design certificate templates, manage recipients, generate PDF certificates with verification codes, deliver credentials via email, and offer public certificate verification. Features vary by plan (Starter, Pro, Enterprise).
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of your organization. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@usecertify.app of any unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purposes
- Issue certificates that misrepresent qualifications or credentials
- Upload malicious content or attempt to disrupt the platform
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload our systems without permission
- Share account access with unauthorized third parties
- Violate the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Your content and data
You retain ownership of templates, recipient data, and certificate content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service. You represent that you have the right to use and share all data you submit, including recipient personal information, and that you have obtained any required consents.
5. Intellectual property
Certify.App, its branding, software, and documentation are our property or our licensors'. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary technology except as needed to use the Service.
6. Plans, billing, and trials
The Starter plan is available at no charge with a limit of 10 certificates per billing period and up to 3 certificate templates. The Pro plan ($29 USD per month) includes up to 1,000 certificates per billing period and unlimited templates. Enterprise plans are subject to custom terms. If a subscription payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period to update your payment method before new certificate generation may be restricted. We may change pricing with reasonable notice; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Cancellation: You may cancel a paid Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal in Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access until that date. After cancellation, your organization reverts to the Starter plan limits.
Refunds: Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law (for example, mandatory consumer withdrawal rights in the EU). If you believe you were charged in error, contact hello@usecertify.app within 14 days of the charge and we will review your request.
7. Service availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the Service. Enterprise customers may have separate SLA terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CERTIFY.APP AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Certify.App from claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or for operational reasons with notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (liability limits, indemnity, governing law) will remain in effect.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Certify.App operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
