Certificate Recipient CSV Template: What Columns to Include

The right CSV structure saves time during bulk import and reduces errors at send time.

A certificate recipient CSV template is the fastest way to prepare bulk issuance. Clean columns mean fewer bounced emails, correct names on PDFs, and a smoother send day for your training team.

Required columns for every import

Include full_name (or first_name and last_name) plus email. Email is required for delivery unless you plan to download PDFs manually for each learner.

Recommended optional fields

Add course_title, completion_date, and cohort or hours completed. Most teams let Certify.App generate certificate IDs automatically rather than supplying their own.

Formatting tips

Use ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD), trim whitespace, and remove duplicate emails before upload to avoid generation errors.

Import and map in Certify.App

Upload the file, map each column to a template field, and review validation warnings. A quick preview catches issues before you generate the full batch.
